A creative frontend engineer with over a decade of commercial experience.

I bring a design-oriented perspective that enables seamless collaboration with design and UX teams, resulting in polished, user-centric experiences.

From eye-catching marketing sites to complex, data-driven applications, I am committed to delivering features efficiently whilst prioritising code quality, scalability and above all, placing the user first.

June 2022 - September 2023 (contract role)

Timeline → Senior frontend engineer

I worked on the main marketting and ecommerce website as well as building complementary micro-sites such as a weekly word game and a skin analysis tool. Tech stack: TypeScript, React, Next, Sanity CMS, Vercel serverless/Node JS, Shopify.

January 2020 - June 2022

Beacon → Senior frontend engineer

Working from the beginning phase of a start-up scaling from 30 to 250 employees, I helped build the main B2B platform for supply chain and logistics freight tracking, reporting as well as a new fintech platform where Beacon Finance offer a loan service. Tech stack: TypeScript, React, (Java backend).

November 2019 - December 2019 (contract role)

The Labour Party → Frontend engineer

Working within the digital campaigns team for the 2019 general election I helped build various micro-sites and tools to help clarify policies to the public. Tech stack: HTML, JavaScript.

June 2019 - October 2019 (contract role)

Axe Trading (via Blue Hat) → Frontend engineer and designer

I built an internal tool to reduce manual processes to test the trading market. Tech stack: TypeScript, React, Web sockets.

August 2019 (contract role)

Imagination → Frontend engineer

Working within the Ford team I helped build various apps to assist four activations at a Go Electric event in Frankfurt. Tech stack: JavaScript, React and Socket.io.

January 2019 - May 2019 (contract role)

Borrow A Boat (via Blue Hat) → Frontend engineer and designer

I designed and built an 'Airbnb style' site for borrowing boats. Tech Stack: JavaScript, React (Django backend).

March 2017 - December 2018

Pod Point → Frontend engineer

I worked within a small team to build: The main mobile app for public and home charge points. Tech stack: JavaScript, React Native. A checkout web app to streamline the complex process of purchasing and installing a charge point. Tech stack: JavaScript, React, Prismic CMS. The customer website. Tech stack: JavaScript, Craft CMS.

January 2015 - March 2017

iris Worldwide → Frontend engineer

Working in a fast paced advertising agency I built various eye catching micro-sites, some static and others with more interactive functionality. Tech stack: JavaScript/jQuery, WordPress custom templates (DotNet/Umbraco or Ruby on Rails backend). Clients included: BMW Mini, Samsung, Dominos, Adidas, Nectar, Shell, Value Retail.

April 2013 - January 2015

Karmarama → Frontend engineer

My first software job in a fast paced advertising agency where I worked on a range of commercial and charity micro-sites, campaign pages and marketting emails. Tech stack: JavaScript/jQuery, WordPress custom templates (Drupal, custom PHP or Zend). Clients included: BT, Honda, Costa, B&Q, British Gas, Fairtrade, Jus Rol, Two Fingers Brewing.

I also do other things

Outside of work I've always got some sort of project or three on the go. As well as coding I enjoy being hands-on with DIY, building furniture as well as drawing and painting. Dancing is also a big love of mine, from Contemporary Ballet to Latin and Swing. And more recently I've taken up tennis and loving it.
